The Chemical Biology Society is dedicated to advancing the understanding of biological systems through chemical principles and tools. Chemical Biology, as a discipline, bridges the gap between chemistry and biology-providing powerful insights into how molecular interactions influence life processes and human health.
The roots of Chemical Biology in India trace back to 1982, when a medical research institute in Kolkata was renamed the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, marking a defining moment in the growth of this interdisciplinary field. Since then, Indian scientists and institutions have made significant contributions to research spanning drug discovery, molecular design, and biochemical analysis.
The Society aims to foster collaboration among researchers, educators, and students who are passionate about exploring the chemistry of life. Through conferences, workshops, and scientific discussions, we strive to promote innovation, share knowledge, and inspire the next generation of chemical biologists.
